My Dash Story
My conversation with Bobby on My Dash Story is different from most of my interviews. This one isn't about the book — it's about the life that made the book possible.
We went all the way back. Growing up in Southern California with a single mom working 60-hour weeks. Being a free-range kid before that was a thing — parenting myself, forging report cards, finding my people on skateboards and BMX bikes. The search for identity that ran underneath all of it, even when I didn't have language for it yet.
We talked about how I came to faith, meeting Stacy, the early years of ministry, and what it looked like when the life I had built started to come apart. The wilderness wasn't just a theological concept I wrote about — it was something I lived through. This conversation traces how I got there and what I found on the other side.
The good, the bad, and the ugly. No cleaned-up version.
If you've ever wondered what's behind the book — this is it.
